Kitchen Tips
Salt is more than just a seasoning – it changes textures, enhances flavors, and makes the difference between a good dish and an unforgettable one.
When to salt?
It's best to salt meat 30–60 minutes before frying – this allows the salt to penetrate and tenderize the meat. Salt pasta water generously: it should "taste of the sea."
Which salt for what?
- Fine sea salt: ideal for cooking and baking
- Flake salt: perfect as a finishing salt directly on the plate
- Smoked salt: adds a special depth to grilled dishes and eggs
- Licorice salt: surprisingly good with chocolate and desserts
- Algae salt: brings umami to soups, fish, and risotto
Tip: Less is more – use high-quality salt sparingly and season only at the end to unleash its full aroma.
